Staying informed doesn’t need to be a full-time job. Our Rave News Digest brings you five of the most talked-about stories from around the world in fashion, entertainment, and sports—handpicked to keep you current and culturally in the know.

1. Jonathan Anderson Named Creative Director of Dior Men

In a landmark announcement, Jonathan Anderson has been appointed Creative Director of Dior Men, stepping into the role following Kim Jones’s departure earlier this year. The move was confirmed by LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault during the group’s annual shareholder meeting.

Anderson leaves Loewe after a transformative 12-year tenure and will now juggle Dior Men alongside his namesake brand, JW Anderson. Known for fusing conceptual art with masterful tailoring, Anderson is expected to infuse Dior with his signature aesthetic of bold craftsmanship and innovative menswear. His debut collection for the French fashion house is scheduled for June 2025.

Arnault notably declined to comment on rumors surrounding Dior’s womenswear division, currently led by Maria Grazia Chiuri, fueling further speculation about the brand’s future direction.

2. Wizkid Set for Film Festival Debut with WIZKID: LONG LIVE LAGOS

Afrobeats icon Wizkid is heading to the big screen in 2025. The Grammy-winning star will be the subject of a new documentary, WIZKID: LONG LIVE LAGOS, set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2025.

The film charts Wizkid’s meteoric rise from the streets of Lagos to international superstardom, offering intimate behind-the-scenes footage, industry insights, and a look into his role in globalizing Afrobeats. While the documentary’s director remains under wraps, early buzz signals a high-profile spotlight on Nigerian music’s global breakthrough.

3. Keyshia Cole’s South African Concert Officially Cancelled

In disappointing news for fans, Keyshia Cole’s long-awaited South African tour has been officially cancelled after multiple postponements. Initially scheduled for September 2024, and later moved to January 2025, the event was again delayed due to Los Angeles wildfires and logistical complications.

Concert promoter Glen21 Entertainment confirmed the cancellation in a public statement, citing ongoing challenges. All ticket holders will receive full refunds, with customer service available through the official ticketing provider. The announcement ends months of anticipation for the R&B star’s return to the continent.

5. Virgil van Dijk Signs New Liverpool Contract Through 2027

Liverpool FC captain Virgil van Dijk has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at Anfield through 2027. The Dutch center-back, widely regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation, called the decision a "no-brainer," reaffirming his loyalty to the Reds.

Van Dijk joined Liverpool in 2018 for a record-breaking £75 million and has since become a cornerstone of the club’s success—winning the Premier League, Champions League, and several domestic titles. With 314 appearances and the armband since 2023, he continues to lead both on and off the pitch.

“Someone called me an adopted Scouser the other day — I’m really proud to hear that,” said Van Dijk. “This club is home.”
