Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Countdown Sparks New Game or Remaster Rumors

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Site Countdown Sparks New Game or Remaster Rumors

Speculation is mounting among fans as the official Tony Hawk's Pro Skater website now displays a countdown clock set to March 4, 2025. This intriguing update has ignited rumors that a major announcement is on the horizon—could it be a brand-new entry in the iconic skateboarding franchise or perhaps a remaster of classic titles?

Earlier this week, an update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 teased the return of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater within a new skate park map called The Grind, which featured a banner displaying the THPS logo alongside the date "03.04.25." This coincides with the countdown on the official site, suggesting a deliberate push to capture fan attention as the date approaches.

The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater hit shelves in September 1999, and while the 25th anniversary has passed, Tony Hawk himself confirmed last year that he has been in talks with Activision about celebrating the franchise's enduring legacy. The future of THPS appears promising, with two main possibilities emerging: a remaster of classic titles similar to the highly acclaimed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, or an entirely new game—especially given that the last fully original installment, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, was released in 2015.

Adding fuel to the fire, previous reports have hinted that a new Tony Hawk game might be announced as early as this summer. With the countdown ticking toward March 4, 2025, all eyes are on Activision and Tony Hawk to see if they will unveil a game that leverages the full power of current-gen consoles and reinvigorates the series for a new era.

Stay tuned to The Horizons Times for further updates on this exciting development in the Tony Hawk franchise.
